Two Lithgow Golf Club’s popular members Dave Thompson (4) and Carlos Garibotto (13) were paired together in the club’s two ball stableford multiplier. Thompson and Garibotto are two of the keenest golfers in the club and they were just two of a very good field that enjoyed welcome warm conditions. They combined to perfection for a winning score of 74 points with both players carding 34 points with their front nines outstanding. They finished two points ahead of runners up Craig McManus (6) and Greg Jackson (9) who finished on 72 points. Jackson had an excellent back nine for a score of 21 points.
There was a singles event held in conjunction and the winning voucher went to Mark Mann (31) with a score of 38 points.
Runner up was Alan Mostyn (11) on 37 points.
Vouchers went to those pairs with 63 points and better and they were Anthony Boza, Jonathan Van Veen, Mitchell Wallace, Darren Hunter, Dennis Wallace, Troy Luka, Mike Saville, Harry and Blake Bender, Geoff Thompson, Steve Hall, Steve Mays and Rob Peachman.
Nearest the pins were Michael Saville, Blake Bender, Dave Thompson, Ian Downey and Geoff Thompson.
Wednesday PFD Food Services nine hole competition:
It took a major countback to decide the placings and vouchers with all the players finishing with 14 points. The winner finished being Evan Carter.
Runner up was Steve McCann and in third place was Les Barnes. Vouchers went to Ian Townsend, Steve Glencourse and Tony Potts.
Nearest to the pins were Ben Sabat and Dave Warren.
Friday Central West Leak Detection and Plumbing nine hole competition:
Winner was Harry Bender on 18 points on a countback from runner up Les Goldspink in third place was Corey Osborne on 16 points.
Vouchers went to Greg Guest and Graeme Osborne.
