The winner of the Lithgow Golf Club A grade monthly medal was Darren Hunter (2) who is arguably one of the best players in the club for a very long period. Coming from a golfing family, Darren is the son of Greg who has also won just about every honour possible over his illustrious career, and now Darren has taken over his legacy with his consistency. Hunter took out the A grade medal and voucher after carding a 70 nett with nines of 35 which included a birdie and eagle and then came home with 27 for a par round of 72.
Runner up is another long term champion golfer in Steve Hall (1) with a score of 73 nett on a countback following an up and down round that saw him register four birdies and six bogies for a 74 off the stick. Best scratch score went to Harry Bender (1) with a 75.
The best nett score of the day came out of C grade wth Jim Heterick (26) returning a 65 nett which was an excellent score considering the damp fairways and blustery winds. Heterick also secured the C grade medal. Runner up was Kim Flynn (27) who is destined for a good career in golf if her keenness has anything to do with it. She has already won a number of events in her short career. Flynn finished with a 72 nett. Best scratch score went to Corey Osborne (22) with a 98 on a countback.
A playoff for the B grade medal will take place next month after Rob Peachman (17) and Dennis Wallace (11) both finished with 68 netts.
It was Peachman that took the winning voucher due to Wallace’s best nine being the front nine where he shot a 37. Best scratch score went to Max McCann (10) with a 80.
Nearest to the pins went to Max Nightingale, Troy Luka (2), John Bird and Anthony Boza.
