The fickle weather continues to test Lithgow golfers and it was surprising to see so many turn out in the miserable conditions for a stableford event. Wind, low temperatures and early morning fogs made life difficult and along with some very tricky pin placements it really tested the field. There were some good scores registered with all three grade winners carding 39 points.
The most impressive win came out of A grade with the consistent Brian Judge finishing with a one under par 71 which featured three birdies, two bogies and all the rest pars. Runner up to Judge was big hitting Rod Bright with a score of 38 points whose driving was outstanding on the day.
Winner of B grade was Jeff Geddes who is on a bit of a streak making it back to back wins having won last Saturday’s event also.
He like the other two winners had strong back nines to set up their 39 points. Runner up was Al Mostyn on 36 points.
The C grade winner was Neil Hutchinson who had a big back nine amassing 21 points in his 39 points. Runner up was Leo Murnane on 37 points who has also been a consistent performer of late.
Vouchers went to Mitchell Wallace, Blake Goldspink, Travis Cameron, Heidi Inwood, Dennis Wallace, Warren Kennedy, Stephen Hall and Mark Seckold. Cut was 33 points on a countback.
Nearest to the pins were Greg Jackson, Rob Peachman, Don Wolfenden, Darren Hunter and Josh Jones.
