It was a special Coal day for Corey Osborne (20) when he took out his first competition win with the best stableford score of the day. Osborne who lives only a couple of hundred metres from the Lithgow Golf Club has been seen playing more frequently in recent times with his parents Carol and Graeme, friends and his sons.
Osborne took out C grade with the impressive score of 42 points. He went out over the front nine with a score of 22 points and then consolidated his win with 20 points on the back nine.
Runner up to Osborne with a score of 40 points was the inform Mark Seckold (24).
One of the most consistent golfers in the Lithgow Club is Chris Keller (4) and he again was at his best with 14 pars and a birdie in his round for a total of 37 points. Runner up was Max Nightingale 8 with a score of 36 points on a countback.
Another impressive score of over 40 was recorded but the B grade winner with Chris Goodsell (13) amassing 41 points with two strong nines of 22 and 19 points. Runner up was Geoff Wheeler (17) with a score of 37 points.
Vouchers went to those with a score of 33 points or better and they were Jason Murray, Olwyn King, Justin Nelson, Blake Goldspink, Dave Warren, Dean Stafford, Ken Mitchell, Al Mostyn and Leo Murnane. Nearest to the pins were Michael Seckold, Dave Titcume, Paul Stewart and two to Justin McCann.
Wednesday PFD Food Services nine hole competition:
Winner was Carlos Garibotto with 18 points ocb.
Runner up was Kev Hughes on 18 and in third position on 17 was Howard Fisher. Vouchers went to Al Glendinning, Brian Quick, Jeff Geddes and Brett Egan. Cut was 15 points ocb. Nearest to the pins were Brian Judge and Dave Warren.
Friday Central West Leak Detection and Plumbing nine hole competition:
Winner was Trevor Cameron on 20 points on a countback to
runner up was Brian Giblett. Third place went to Greg Guest on 17 points. Vouchers went to Dave Thompson and Chris Keller.
