It was the perfect way for Graham Dean, Brett Egan and Kim Flynn to start 2025 with wins in their respective grades in the weekend’s Lithgow Golf Club’s stableford event. While the winners and runners up can feel pleased with themselves, it gives the rest of the field something to work on in the coming weeks.
The best stableford score came out of B grade with Brett Egan (12) amassing the big score of 42 points. Egan who usually works over the weekend took advantage of his days off to play in the Saturday competition and recorded an excellent front nine of 22 points and then cemented his win with 20 points. Runner up on 40 points was Rob George (18) who was very happy with his round.
Grahame Dean (9) was a clear winner in A grade with a score of 41 points. It was a mixed round for Dean with his card showing three birdies, three bogies, two double bogies and the rest pars which all added up to his good score. Runner up was Mitch Luka (6) with a strong round of 39 points.
Kim Flynn (23) struck again when she stormed home over the back nine with 21 points to amass a total of 38 points to win C grade on a countback. She counted out runner up Julie Murnane (20) who has been one of the inform golfers prior to the New Year and looks to be carrying on her good form into the new year.
