It was miserable conditions for the Lithgow Golf Club’s stableford event but while the majority of people stayed indoors sheltering from the rain 44 hardy golfers braved the elements.
It has been a good couple of weeks for Rob Hawes (9) who was the A grade winner with a score of 37 points. Hawes took out the 2024 A grade gold medal two weeks ago and has continued his good form. He was out of the game for a couple of months due to recurring knee troubles and turns his golfing expertise to continue coaching his star pupil Kim Flynn and it looks like he has been practicing what he has been preaching with a number of good rounds since returning to weekly golf. Runner up to Hawes was Max Nightingale (6) with a solid 36 points.
Another golfer who has enjoyed a successful couple of weeks was B grade winner Lachlan Roach (12) who has been in the placings of late and also captured the money in the Pro Pin recently. Runner up was last week’s winner Pat Wall with a score of 35 points.
Another winner over the last couple of weeks has been Neil Hutchinson (19) who again headed C grade with a score of 35 points. The C graders struggled in the wet conditions with the runner up score being 29 points and that was recorded by young James Bennett.
Vouchers went down to 34 points on a countback and winners were Ian Downey, Chris Neville, Blake Goldspink and Mitchell Wallace.
